United Soccer Academy and Venice Area Youth Soccer are excited to announce the inaugural Florida International Futsal Cup, which will be played February 7-8, 2009 in Englewood, Florida.  The goal of the Florida International Futsal Cup is to grow the game of futsal in Florida and bring together youth soccer players from Florida, across the United States, and internationally to provide them with a quality futsal and cultural experience.  Players from the United States and Brazil will be coming together not only to compete but to bridge the world together through sport, in particular the game of futsal.

Through the collaboration of United Soccer Academy and Venice Area Youth Soccer and their extensive soccer contacts here in the United States and overseas, the Florida International Futsal Cup promises to develop into quality international futsal tournament drawing teams from around the world.

In a document from the US Soccer Federation supporting the US Soccer Development Academy called "Player Development in the United States" called for more futsal in younger players because of its free play and skill development.  Futsal is great for player development as players have to play and move quickly, use skills, and be creative.  

The Florida International Futsal Cup looks forward to your participation as we grow the game of futsal in Florida and bring together youth players from around the world.
